Poppy Graphic Call to celebrate (over intercom)

Poppy Graphic Opening: HONOUR SONG by Adrian

Poppy Graphic Welcome Greeting: Mr. Richardson

Today we gather to remember all those who have dedicated their lives to bringing PEACE in the world. We remember not only the men and women of the world’s armed forces who have died…but also those whose lives were taken needlessly…and those who teach us the importance of having PEACE in the world.

This day, we are all called to remember our school theme:

WHAT WOULD CREATOR DO?

Creator is loving and forgiving. He needs us to be the same way. He sent his Son to teach us HIS way... and Jesus came to show us all the power of FORGIVENESS.

This is what a Peacemaker is, a person who tries to make the Creator's will…be lived in the world.

Let us now join together in our GREATEST RESPECT of this special honouring of PEACE and PEACEMAKERS…
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Amen

Poppy Graphic FLUTE SONG: Amanda Woodward

Poppy Graphic Reading: Mr. MacLeod
A reading from Psalm 119:2-8 :
How happy are those who respect His decrees and seek with Him their whole heart, and, doing no evil, walk in his ways! You yourself have made your values known to be faithfully kept. Oh! May my behaviour be constant in keeping your decrees. If I concentrate on your every commandment, I can never be put to shame. I thank you from an upright heart, schooled in your rules of righteousness. I mean to observe your statutes; never abandon me.

Poppy Graphic Hymn: Make Me A Channel of Your Peace (Prayer of St. Francis)

Poppy Graphic Hymn: Peace Is Flowing

Peace is flowing like a river,
Flowing out of you and me,
Flowing out into the desert,
Setting all the captives free.

Hope is flowing like a river...

Friendship's flowing like a river...

His LOVE is flowing like a river...

Alleluia, Alleluia...

Poppy Graphic Poem Presentation -
by the 3M Family and Dean Cardinal (CREE reading)

In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.
(Niyanan nakataskiyak) We are the Dead.
(moya kayas) Short days ago
(Nipimatisinan) We lived
(mosihtanan pitapan) felt Dawn
(Wahpatinan pahkisimohk ka wasiyak) saw sunset glow
(isakihayak isakihikawiyahk maka ikwa nipimisinan)
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
(ota Flanders Fields.) In Flanders Fields

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.

Lest We Forget

Poppy Graphic Closing Song: O Canada

O Canada

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love!
In all our sons command!

With glowing hearts
We see thee rise
The true north strong and free!

From far and wide
O Canada!
We stand on guard for thee!

God keep our land
Glorious and free!
O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee
O Canada!
We stand on guard for thee!
