Jesus was kind and forgiving. He said good things about people and when they did not live accordingly to God’s will He reminded them about what they should be doing.
This is what a Peacemaker is, a person who tries to make the Creator’s will…be lived in the world.
Today we gather to remember all those who have dedicated their lives to bringing PEACE in the world. We remember not only the men and women of the world’s armed forces who have died…but also those whose lives were taken needlessly…and those who teach us the importance of having PEACE in the world.
Let us now begin…
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Amen
Hymn: Make Me A Channel of Your Peace (Prayer of St. Francis)
First Reading: Bryan Richardson
A reading from Psalm 119:2-8 :
How happy are those who respect His decrees and seek with Him their whole heart, and, doing no evil, walk in his ways! You yourself have made your values known to be faithfully kept. Oh! May my behaviour be constant in keeping your decrees. If I concentrate on your every commandment, I can never be put to shame. I thank you from an upright heart, shooled in your rules of righteousness. I mean to observe your statutes; never abandon me.
Gospel Acclamation: Alleluia
Gospel: Father Jim:
A reading from the holy gospel according to Matthew 5:9
Glory to You Lord Jesus Christ
Happy are the poor in spirit; theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Happy are the gentle, they have the earth for their heritage. Happy are those who mourn, they shall be comforted. Happy are those who hunger and thirst for what is right; they shall be satisfied. Happy the merciful, they shall have mercy shown them. Happy the pure in heart, they shall see God. Happy the peacemakers, they shall be called children of God.
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ

In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
(Niyanan nakataskiyak) We are the Dead.
(moya kayas) Short days ago
(Nipimatisinan) We lived
(mosihtanan pitapan) felt Dawn
(Wahpatinan pahkisimohk ka wasiyak) saw sunset glow
(isakihayak isakihikawiyahk maka ikwa nipimisinan)
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
(ota Flanders Fields.) In Flander Fields
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.
