LENTEN PRAYERS

Grade 3 Family
The following prayers were written by our students during the second week of LENT.
The prayers focused on forgiveness and making choices that would help us become better people.

Alyssa’s LENTEN Prayer
Please forgive us Jesus, as we know God your Father forgives us.
God loves us like we love you. We love you even more Jesus.
Mary loves us like we love her – and even more.
Thank you Mary, for your son Jesus. Thank you for helping us to learn.
Thank you Jesus for dying for us.
Thank you God for our love.
We love our teachers.
We will not sin or break your commandments.
We all love you God, Mary and Jesus.

Austin's LENTEN Prayer
Oh Loving Jesus,
Thank you for my dog, friends, sisters and brothers.
I will give the poor people food and money.
Jesus, I thank you for your sacrifice.
Would you pray for Glenda, Mrs.Monteith and for the drummers and dancers of our school?
Thank you for my food.
Please forgive me for hitting my brother; I am going to say sorry to him.
I will help him learn math and I will love him.
Amen.
Denis’ LENTEN Prayer
Oh Loving Jesus,
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Please forgive me for my sins and help other people in the world, even the poor.
The sacrifice that happened was tragic.
I know you come from the dead at Easter.
Easter is a wonderful time. It is peaceful.

Frankie's LENTEN Prayer
Dear Loving Jesus,
Thank you for healing my sickness.
Please forgive me God for saying bad stuff and bad things.
I’m sorry for hitting, and I’m going to stop hitting.
Thank you for my friends, my family and my pets.

Jamie’s LENTEN Prayer
Dear loving Jesus,
Can you forgive me for what I have done and said to other people?
Thank you Jesus, for dying on the cross for all of the people on the earth.
For Lent I have given up being mean.
Jesus, we all know you love us. So does Mary and your Father.

Kennedy’s LENTEN Prayer
Dear Jesus,
Can you forgive me for my sins?
I am sorry I picked on people. Jesus felt sad because he was getting picked on.
Jesus gave his life for us – because of our sins. If Jesus didn’t die on the cross, there would be no forgiveness or heaven for us.
Thank you for my mother and father. Thank you for my sisters and brothers and my whole family.
I ask for prayers for my little brother and my friends.
I want to ask for peace in the world. Please take care of people in the world.
Please forgive people who sinned.
Lord Jesus Christ, I praise you.
Leona’s LENTEN Prayer
Mary Our Mother in Heaven,
Can you forgive my sins?
Can you forgive all the bad stuff I have done?
I forgive the people who hurt me and who scared me.
Forgive them Mary, for doing that bad stuff.
God gave this world to you and me to share.
Easter is when Jesus died on the cross for us and rose to heaven.
We give thanks for Him.
In your Holy name we pray.

Loving God,
Thank you for my family, friends, and pets, dear God.
Help me in school, Mother Mary.
I love you God.
I pray I will be good in school. I will make good choices.
Oh loving Jesus, I pray to you Lord Jesus Christ.
I will pray to Mary.

Shania’s LENTEN Prayer
Dear God,
We love you so much. We love you as much as you love us.
Will you forgive us please, for what we did before?
I will be kind and true.
I will work hard to help other people. I will donate to the poor people.
I will not be slow. I will show you that I can work faster and harder.
Thank you for my family, my cousins, my Aunties, my Uncles and my friends.
I will show you love now and forever.

Shawna's LENTEN Prayer
God is our refuge and strength,
An ever-present help in times of trouble.
Before Him we will not fear,
Though the Earth gives way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.
Though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Thank you for my friends, family and 3M family,
Thank you for my teacher Mrs.Monteith.
Please forgive me for my sins.
Thank you for brothers and my sister.
Forgive me for being mean to my brother.
When I go home tomorrow, I will say sorry.

Tamara’s LENTEN Prayer
Oh Lord,
Can you forgive me for my sins? I have made bad and wrong choices.
Thank you for Mary, for Jesus and for our food and homes. We thank you for everything on earth.
Thank you for my mom and dad. Thank you for my family and cousins. Thank you for my teachers and the friends I have made.
Thank you Mary, for helping us to learn and to help each other.
I will do my best in my work, and in everything I do.
I will forgive people who hurt me, my friends and my family.
I will help the poor by giving money so they can have a warm home and good food.
Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for us.
God and Mary, I’m sorry about your Son Jesus having to suffer and die on the cross.
God, Jesus and Mary, we love you.
