Prayers to Begin Our School Year

The following are the first attempts by our class, to creative write, this school year.
We chose to begin with a prayer...
(Always Say A Prayer!)
These prayers were written for THANKSGIVING ... and some were chosen to be the 'Daily Prayer' over the intercom for the week of October 11-14, 2005.

Great Jesus,
Thank you for the water that keeps us alive. Thank you for the lakes.
Thank you for the trees that help us get fresh air. Thank you for the woods.
Thank you for the animals. Thank you for cats.
I thank you for food.
Thank you for the schools and homes.
Thank you for the people that help us.
Thank you for the cars because they can get you anywhere.
Jesus I am sorry for being bad, please forgive me.
Jesus, help me be good and be nice everywhere.
Jesus, you are so nice to everybody.
Thank you for helping to build our schools.
Dear God,
Help me to respect my brothers and sister.
Help me to be good in class.
Thank you for the teachers who help us learn.
I will keep Mrs. Monteith in my prayers. I am really sorry that her Uncle passed away.
God help her so she will grow to be strong.

Lord God Heavenly King,
Thank you for my baby sister and my mom.
Thank you for the books and schools that help us learn.
Thank you for food and drinks and a safe place to live.
I'm sorry that my Grandpa died when I was little but I know he is happy with YOU in heaven.
GOd, help my friends to be good at school and at home.
God you are so strong and brave. I love you!

Dear God and Mary,
I ask you for food and water, and I thank you for giving us food and water.
Thank you for my family.
I ask for my baby brother in our family, to grow healthy because my mom loves him so much and my dad loves him so much too, God.
Thank you for our schools.
Thank you for our homes.
Thank you for doctors.
Thank you for animals like cats.
I am sorry for not being thankful when I should be.
I ask for your blessings God.
You are so loving. You love us all the time.
In Your Holy Name I give Praise to YOU.
Dear Jesus,
I give thanks for my family and friends.
I am sorry for all the sins I've done, and for not going to church.
I ask you to let my sister pass Grade 2 and for me to pass Grade 3.
I give praise for my good health.

Dear Lord,
I am thankful to you for making my family.
I am thankful for the sweetgrass that helps us.
I am thankful for the trees that give us air.
I am thankful for the fish because they are good to eat.
I am sorry that my Grandma died, but I am happy she is with you in heaven.
Lord, help animals to live.
Help my little brother to learn how to ride a two-wheeler.
Lord you are so thankful when we do something good. We will try to do good things for you.

Dearest God and my loving Moshum in heaven,
I am very thankful that my family is still alive with me on earth.

I am sorry for people being mean to everybody. I hope people will be nicer to each other.
I wish that God could give me video games like football, soccer and hockey. I wish all kids could get the things they want.

I feel sorry for the people and animals that are dead.
I even feel sorry for our enemies that are dead.
I am sorry for what I do to my brother like ‘kneeing’ him.
God, we need a lot of money to buy a lot of food. We also need money to buy a vehicle and furniture.
I miss my old friends in Lac la Biche, but I want to live here and be happy and safe.

I'm sorry I don't listen to my mom and dad and the teacher, like I should. I will listen and try harder.
I ask you God to please let my sister pass to Grade 3 and for me to pass to Grade 4, this year. Help me God to do my work and learning.
