Halloween Writing


The following songs and poems were written as part of a Halloween Unit assignment completed by our class of students in the 2002-2003 school year.






D.J’s Song:

Mary had a scary ghost,
Scary ghost,
Scary ghost,
Mary had a scary ghost, it even gave her a scare!


Mary had a bloody face,
Bloody face,
Bloody face,
Mary had a bloody face, it even gave her a bloody leg!





Hannah’s Song:

Mary had a vampire,
Vampire,
Vampire,
Mary had a vampire, it even sucked her blood!





Preston’s Song:

Baa Baa black wolf, have you any blood?
Yes sir, yes sir, six bags full.
One for the jack-o-lantern who sits on the fence,
One for the witch, who flies in the sky,
One for the skeleton who lost a bone,
One for the vampire, who sucks a lot of blood,
One for the ghost, who lives in my house,
One for the black cat, that the witch owns.





Jenny’s Poem:

Mary had a scary skeleton,
Scary skeleton.
The skeleton was mean,
And one day, he scared Mary, and she ran for a day!
Then, she came back home, and scared the skeleton away!





Miranda’s Song:

Mary found a little cat,
Little cat,
Little cat.
Mary found a little cat and scratched her on the face.





Jordan’s Song:

Mary had a scary man,
Scary mask,
Scary mask.
Mary has a scary mask, and scared herself away!
Then she ripped it apart!

Black, black, black wolf, have you any wolf?
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full.
One for the skeleton, and one for the cat.
And one for the witch, whose always in my hat!
Green, green goblins knocked on my door,
I gave them some candy and they came back for more!





Robyn’s Song:

Mary had a ghost so white,
Ghost so white,
Ghost so white.
Mary had a ghost so white, that it scared her away!





Renne’s Poem:

H- Is for Halloween, that is very fun!
A- I always go trick-or-treating, and it is very fun.
L- I have to wait in Line to get candy.
L- I Love going trick-or-treating!
O- On Halloween, we get candy.
W- Who invented Halloween?
E- Even my mom likes Halloween.
E- Even my dad likes Halloween.
N- Next Halloween, I will get more candy.
