Grade 3 Name Poems


The following acronym poems were written as one of the first creative writing assignments completed by our class of students in the 2001-2002 school year. Some of students even attempted to use RHYMING in their name poems! Can you find the rhymes?

B - Brett has a best friend named Logan.
R - Red is Brett’s favorite colour.
E - Eggs are Brett’s favorite food and Brett thinks his work is Easy.
T - Test is what Brett had to do today.
T - Teasing is what Brett never does!

C – Chest – I found a treasure Chest.
A – Apples – I like Apples.
S – Strawberries – I like Strawberries.
S – Sky – I like watching the Sky.
I – Igloos – I like Igloos.
D – Dark – I like when it is Dark.
Y – Yo-Yo – I see a Yo-Yo.

D - Donuts - I like Donuts.
A - Apple - I don’t like Apples.
L - Licorice - I like to eat Licorice.
E - Easy - School is Easy for me.

W - Wild - I think Wild animals are evil.

A - And - And it was a scare!
T - Tear - When I went to school, my shirt had a Tear.
A - And - And fuzz came out of there!
S - Stair - On Monday I fell down a Stair.
H - Hair - Then on Tuesday, I grew some Hair!
A - And - And "Oh!" that was a scare!

O – Ocarina – I like floating with my cousin Ocarina.
B – Brother – I’ve got a Brother.
