The following stories were written as one of the first creative writing assignments completed by our class of students in the new year, after returning from the Christmas 2000 holidays.
We hope you find these stories to be interesting and fun to read! (We really focused on our PARAGRAPH writing, for this assignment!)
My 2000 Christmas Holiday

This was the best holiday I ever had, because I was in Frog Lake.
As soon as school ended before Christmas, I stayed at my Aunty Charmaine's.
On Christmas Eve, the whole family had a huge supper at Derian's.
On Christmas Day, we went to my Mosom Waylon's, to get our gifts.
On Boxing Day, we went shopping with my dad.
The week after Christmas, I stayed at Frog Lake.
On New Year's Eve, all my cousins spent the night at my house.
On New Year's Day, we had a big dinner.
The week after New Year's, we went to the World Water Park at West Edmonton Mall.
What a busy and fun holiday!

This was the most fun holiday ever, in my whole life!
As soon as school ended before Christmas, I was crazy about Christmas! I ran everywhere.
On Christmas Eve, my dad brought us to dinner at the best restaurant. We had poutine and a drink.
On Christmas Day, I opened my presents. I got a Barbie and a pair of pants. I also got a bed set. I used all of them on Christmas Day.
On Boxing Day, I went to the mall. I got clothes. I went to get a winter jacket.
The week after Christmas, I watched movies all day long. My favorite movie was "GREASE". My favorite part in the movie, was the end of the movie.
On New Year's Eve, I stayed at home because my dad was sick. I stayed up until 12:30 a.m.! At 12:00 a.m. I said, "Happy New Year!" and went to bed.
On New Year's Day, I listened to the 'Fireplace Music' on TV, at my house. The first time I heard it, I shut up.
After the Christmas break was over, I was excited about going back to school, because I love school! It is the best thing ever!

This was the best Christmas and Christmas holiday ever!
As soon as school ended, I couldn't wait until Christmas!
Christmas Eve, December 24/00, I couldn't wait to open one present.
On Christmas Day, I opened all my presents and I played with them all day until night.
On Christmas Day for dinner, we had buns, salad, turkey, vegetables and potatoes. For dessert, we had ice cream and pie.
The week after Christmas, I went outside and played with my toys at my friend's house. It was a lot of fun!
On New Year's Eve, we went to the countdown, and then I got to go to my Grandma's.
On New Year's Day, I slept in because I stayed up late on New Year's Eve.
The week after New Year's, I got ready for going back to school.

This was my favorite Christmas ever in my life! My holiday was so fun!
On Christmas Eve, I was so excited because I got teddy bears and a Barbie!
On Christmas Day I opened my presents. I got a picture.
The week after Christmas, I was playing with my toys.
On New Year's Eve, my cousins came to sleep over. I had dinner with my cousins.
On New Year's Day, we were being loud and we had to go to bed. When we woke up, we played games, then my cousins went home. After that, my other cousins came over to play. Then they left.
The week after New Year's, I hardly did anything.
After all these fun days off of school, I got sick. Then it was time to go back to school!

This was the most relaxing holiday I ever had. I got to sleep in all holiday!
On Christmas Eve, I went sledding. My mom made Hot Chocolate with my brother and sister.
On Christmas Day, I opened my gift. I got what I wanted! It was a stereo and CD's to play in it.
On Boxing Day, I slept in. That was so relaxing too!
The week after Christmas, I went to the mall and bought a pair of shoes. My sister Shelly took so long to find what she wanted. Finally, we went downstairs in the mall, and she found shoes.
On New Year's Eve, I had a big dinner. I was feeling full.
On New Year's Day, I had a sleepover with my cousins. We watched movies. It was so much fun!
Over the holidays, I made a snowman. That was funny too!

This was the best Christmas ever beause there were lots of presents, there were lots of people, and then we all went to church.
When school ended for the holiday, I had a Christmas concert. We had hats and headbands; the boys had the hats and the girls had the headbands.
On Christmas Eve, we went to see some fireworks. My brother Keith, got a light thing.
On Christmas Day, I opened my presents. I got a scooter, a doll, a blanket, a dress, a soap thing, a Monopoly game, a checkers game and a Secret Diary.
On Boxing Day, I went to the mall. My mom gave me $20.00 to spend! My brothers bought toys and I bought my teacher a gift.
On New Year's Eve, My Aunty Tammy, her boyfriend, and her kids came over. My brother Ryan went with my Aunty Tammy, her son Bryan, and her daughter Amber, to see the fireworks. My brother Keith, my mom and I were at home. Then we went to see the fireworks.
On New Year's Day, we went to the mall.
The week after New Year's, we went to my mom's friend's and we went to the mall again. Then we went to the movies.

As soon as school ended before Christmas, I went shopping at Zellers, and got my sisters' presents.
On Christmas Eve, I went to my friend's house and played. Then I watched TV at home for a while, until we went to the mall. Then we came home.
On Christmas Day, we opened our presents.
On Boxing Day, we went to look at scooters. We were thinking of buying one.
The week after Christmas, we went to West Edmonton Mall.
On New Year's Eve, we stayed home and watched "Friends" on TV.
On New Year's Day, we had a dinner and all our cousins came over.
The week after New Year's, we went to my cousin's place, and played with her.

When it was Christmas Eve, my mom and dad went shopping for our Christmas presents. Then when they got home, we had to go to bed, so my mom and dad could wrap the presents. When they were done, they went to bed too.
Then it was Christmas Day!
When we woke up at 9:00 a.m., we ate breakfast, then we opened our presents. After that we got ready to go to my Grandma's. My Aunty picked us up. We all went to my Grandma's. We all ate there, and then played games.
On Boxing Day, we all stayed home for our family dinner. We ate potatoes and corn.
On New Year's Eve, we went to Churchill Square. We went skating and saw the fireworks. Then we went home.
On New Year's Day, we went for dinner at my Aunty's. Then we went for a walk and came back and played games.
After all these day's off of school, it was time to get ready to go back to school. I was feeling good about coming back to school.

This was a very good holiday for me and my whole family!
As soon as school ended before Christmas, I got to open my presents, because we had to leave for my Grandpa's and Grandma's. They live in Kinuso, Alberta.
We stayed overnight, then we woke up and opened a few presents that we had in Kinuso. This all happened on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas Day, we went to Peace River. I saw my Great-Grandpa. I opened one more present.
On Boxing Day, I got to go swimming with my cousins. I had a really fun time. We went back to Aunty Terri's house. We played hide-and-go-seek-tag and then Nintendo-64. I had a great time!
The week after Christmas, we stayed at my Grandpa's house. On the final morning, we went and said our good-bye's.
On New Year's Eve, we all stayed home as a family. We got lotof chips and paid for a movie. We got so into the movie, that we forgot about New Year's Eve countdown!
On New Year's Day, we stayed home and played video games.
The week after New Year's, we went to West Edmonton Mall. We went to Galaxyland and went on the rides. That was a lot of fun! Then we went to a waterpark and went swimming. After that, we came back home.

This Christmas holiday was so much fun because my cousin's came to my house for the holiday!
When school ended before Christmas, I was so happy because the holiday was finally here!
On Christmas Eve, I went to Sunday School. When we came home, the Sunday School gave me a gift. It was a doll.
On Christmas morning I went to the tree to get the big gift; it was a Native doll!
On Boxing Day we got a new VCR! It was black.
The week after Christmas, I stayed home, watched videos, and played with my toys.
On New Year's Eve, I was watching the news. There was a lot of people having babies.
On New Year's Day, my mom, dad, Kim, Lilla, and I, had a nice lunch.
The week after New Year's, on the Sunday, my Aunt had a baby boy! The next day, we came back to school!

On Christmas Eve I went to Midnight Mass. Then we went home to my Grandma's house. We dropped my Grandma off, and my cousins Brittney and Brooke. After that, we went to my mama's and papa's. I opened one present. I got a play telephone and then I went to bed.
On Christmas Day we woke up. All of my Aunties and Uncles were there. We had to wait because our presents were on the Greyhound bus. My dad had to go to the bus depot and pick up our Christmas presents. When he got back, our big box was in the middle of the room. My cousin Kristin, taped the Christmas Day. She taped it on her new video-taper, that my Uncle Darryl bought for her, for a Chrstmas present.
On Boxing Day, we packed up our stuff, and went to stay with our Grandma Liza. Then we went to see my Grandma Bushshe, and we got to ride in our Grandpa's van. We went to our cousin Cliffe's house, and we got to open our presents. I got a game and a big candy cane. (It took a week and a half to finish that candy cane!)
After we visited, we went to drop my cousin Cliffe off, to camp at his friend's house. Then we went back to my Grandma's house.
On New Year's Eve, we packed up our clothes and played a game of Checkers. We had some cereal. Then we watched a cartoon about Charlie Brown. While my mom was putting the stuff in the bag, we had to give hugs to everybody in Paddle Prairie.(Well, not everybody, because we don't know all of the people there!) We drove past houses to go to my Uncle's house and give them a hug. Then we went back home to Edmonton.
On New Year's Day, my mom dropped us off at our Aunty's. We forgot to do the countdown, because our Aunty doesn't have a TV, but she has a computer. She said that we missed the countdown. Then she said to give her a big hug and kiss. We did. Then she said that we had to go to bed.
In the morning, we had to clean up. While we were cleaning, she had to cook a big dinner. Everybody came to her house and had dinner.
The week after New Year's Day we had to go to camp at my cousin's, Alana and Jessy, because my mom and dad wanted to go out. In the morning, my mom had to pick us up at my cousin's. When we were driving home, we stopped at McDonalds for breakfast.

This was the most relaxing holiday ever!
As soon as school ended...I went shopping with my mom.Then I phoned my Grandpa to ask him when he's coming to my house.
On Christmas Eve...I went to my cousin's house to camp. We played his Nintendo 64, then we played with his nephew Kashtian, then went to bed.
On Christmas Day...I opened my presents. Then we went to my Grandpa's house and opened some more presents! We ate dinner. Me and my Aunty "Buggy", broke the wishbone. Then my Uncle took me skidooing! We had lots of fun! Then we rented movies, and went to bed.
On Boxing Day...my Uncle took me skiing. Then I went to my friend's birthday. Her name is Taylor. She is 8! After that, I went to my cousin Randall's house and we went sledding. After that, I went home.
The week after Christmas...I got sick. I had to stay in bed all the time! I was sad, I could not get out of bed.
On New Year's Eve...I went to a Round Dance with my Grandpa. It was good! I had duck soup. That's my favorite soup!
On New Year's Day...I watched 'the Klumps', 'the Cell', then at 2:30 I watched 'the Falling Stars'. It was cool!
The week after New Year's...I stayed home and watched TV. I was bored, so I went to the park. Then I ate supper and did my homework. Then I went to bed. I was excited to go back to school!

This was the most fun holiday EVER!
As soon as school ended...I was so excited about Christmas! I went to go shopping for my family's presents, with my mom.
On Christmas Eve...my mom, sister and Kevin, were wrapping all the presents. We had 20!
On Christmas Day...I woke up and went to the tree. Then I opened my big gift. It was a stereo with CD's! I also got a pink box, a Barbie, and a ball.
On Boxing Day...I stayed home and watched some TV. I helped my mom do the dishes and sweep. Then I was playing with a 'Beetle Juice' puzzle.
The week after Christmas...my sister was going back to Saddle Lake with Kokum Lena. She said she'll come back on Friday.
On New Year's Eve...Simon (my brother) and I had to do some work. Simon had to do the dishes and sweep, and I had to clean our room and wipe the dishes. Then we got our allowance. Simon got $6.00 and I got $10.00.
On New Year's Day...my mom set the table for Simon, Kevin and Amanda, but I had the flu so my mom told me to lay down. She gave me some Ginger Ale and Jello.
Over the rest of my holidays...I had a bad flu. I was very happy I got better and came back to school!

This was one of the funnest holidays I ever had!
On Christmas Eve I opened presents and went to my Kokum's for dinner. Affter we ate dinner, we went to Midnight Mass at Sacred Heart of the First Peoples Parish. Then we went home.
On Christmas Day we went for a walk and we came back to open our presents. Then we ate dinner.
On Boxing Day morning, we went to the mall. We bought clothes for my sister and I.
On the week after Christmas, I just sat around and watched TV.
On New Year's Eve, we went to my friend's house. We had fun because we played the 'Operation' game.
On New Year's Day, we all played with our toys.
After all the holidays were over, we just sat around and watched TV. Then it was time to go back to school.

I ate turkey two times; at my dad's and at my mom's.

It was my birthday on New Year's Day. My mom cooked a turkey and made me a cake, for my birthday.
