Opening Message: Mr. Richardson
Today, the Ben Calf Robe School Family of 2003-2004, are gathered together one final time, to celebrate the closing of our school year.

The end of another school year…always means change…of one kind or another. Sometimes these changes are welcome and wanted…but sometimes change hurts, and is hard to do.

As is always the truth…the family we are today, will never be the same again…as some of us will not be returning with us in the Fall.

We have students who are graduating or will be moving on to different and higher heights… We have staff that will be leaving us for new challenges and opportunities…

But no matter where you go, or what you go on and do…Ben Calf Robe will always be a part of you…and a part of your heart.

Today we look back at the many special times we’ve shared together at Ben Calf Robe School, the many special people who have come into our lives, the people we’ve come to know, work and grow with, and most of all the special ways we have all made this year, such a successful and memorable one.

We must not look at the close of this school year as a sad time…but rather as a chance for new hope and new life.

Even though we will all be facing changes of one kind or another…we must remember to take the time to give thanks for all the many blessings we have already been given. We must use the experiences we have had together at Ben Calf Robe School, to go on and become even better, stronger and more giving people…to all those who we have yet to meet …on the journey of learning and of life.

Our Celebration theme says…
"Farewell...Hi'ya Hi'ya...Amen"

No matter how we say it...it is time to say "Good-bye" and wish each other the best of luck for the days to come.

We are thankful that we shared this journey together...but now it is time for us to part...for the summer...and for the future that lies ahead for each one of us.

Let us begin our Celebration…in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit…Amen

First Reading: Miss Anderson
A reading from Psalm 119: 105-112, 114-117

Your word is a lamp onto my feet and a light to my path.
I have sworn and I will confirm it, that I will keep your righteous ordinances.
I am exceedingly afflicted; Revive me, O Lord, and teach me your ordinances.
My life is continually in my hand, yet I do not forget Your law.
The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I have not gone astray from your precepts.
I have inherited your testimonies forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes Forever, even to the end.
You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for Your word.
Depart from me evildoers, that I may observe the commandments of my God.
Sustain me according to Your word that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope.
Uphold me that I may be safe, that I may regard your statutes continually.

This is the word of the Lord,
Thanks be to God

Gospel Acclamation: Alleluia

Gospel: Father Jim
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark 4: 24-32
Glory to You Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear! The same rules you use to judge others will be used by God to judge you – but with even greater severity.

The person with something will be given more, and the person who has nothing will have taken away from him even the little he has.”

Jesus went on to say, “The Kingdom of God is like this. A man scatters seed in his field. He sleeps at night, is up about during the day, and all the while the seeds are sprouting and growing. Yet he does not know how it happens. The soil itself makes the plants grow and bear fruit; first the tender stalk appears, then the ear, and finally the ear is full of corn. When the corn is ripe, the man starts cutting it with a sickle, because harvest time has come.

What shall we say the Kingdom of God is like?” asked Jesus. “What parable shall we use to explain it?

It is like this. A man takes a mustard seed, the smallest seed in the world, and plants it in the ground. After a while it grows up and becomes the biggest of all plants. It puts out such large branches that the birds come and make their nests in its shade.”

Jesus preached his message to the people, using many other parables like these; he told them as much as they could understand.

This is the Gospel of the Lord
Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ

Symbolic Gesture:
At this point in the celebration we are going to remember and give honour to certain members of our school family who we know, will not be returning with us, in the Fall.

These members of our family will be going on to new challenges and different places.

These people have been very special to us, and we will now present them with special gifts of LOVE.

(*Each 'Special Person' acknowledged, will be presented with their farewell gift from the school)

At the end of the presentations (when all staff are standing at the front) … Mrs. Monteith will read the Farewell Poem dedicated to them.

We will all then join in the closing prayer...

Closing Prayer: Mrs. Monteith
Creator, we have come together today, to give thanks for the many ways each of us has learned, grown, shared and been enriched, by the experiences of our year together.

We praise You and each other, for the many successes we have accomplished with each others’ help and support.

We celebrate our friendships and our memories…and we pray for continued blessings on all our Ben Calf Robe School Family…wherever they may be, from now on.

We ask You, Creator, to be close to us and continue to help us make wise choices that show everyone that we are in Your family, and we will strive to make You proud of us, and always worthy of Your LOVE.

May we all be the mustard seed that flourishes, and may we use the special powers, talents and blessings we have been given, to make our lives, our school, our futures, and Mother Earth ...a more beautiful place for everyone to be.

This we pray………………… in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit……..Amen

Now to end our Celebration…and our year together…we will have our PowerPoint presentation (assorted photos memories from the 2003-2004 school year set to music).
